SiriusXM Offers Comprehensive Coverage of 2011 NFL Season

Sirius XM Radio, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NFL, will provide comprehensive coverage of the 2011 NFL season, offering live play-by-play broadcasts of every game on satellite radio and, for the first time, online.

Sirius and XM Premier (formerly known as “The Best of Sirius”) subscribers who have SiriusXM Internet Radio access in addition to their satellite radio subscription will now be able to listen to every NFL game from the preseason through the Super Bowl streamed online and through the SiriusXM App for smartphone and wireless devices.

The 2011 NFL season kicks off tonight, Sept. 8 (8:30 pm ET), with a matchup of the league’s previous two Super Bowl winners when the defending champion Green Bay Packers host the 2009 champion New Orleans Saints.  SiriusXM will air the Packers radio broadcast (ch. 93 on Sirius, ch. 226 on XM Premier, ch. 862 online), the Saintsradio broadcast (ch. 92 on Sirius, ch. 225 on XM Premier, ch. 861 online) and the national radio broadcast (ch. 88 on Sirius and XM Premier, and online).  Former NFL quarterback Jim Miller will broadcast live for SiriusXM NFL Radio from Green Bay’s Lambeau Field before and after the game.

Longtime NFL broadcaster and 16-time Emmy Award winner John Madden will return for his eighth season as a commentator on SiriusXM NFL Radio, hosting Madden Football every Wednesday (2:00 — 3:00 pm ET) alongside Adam Schein and Rich Gannon.  Madden will discuss the latest NFL news and preview the coming weekend’s matchups.  Madden’s in-depth game breakdowns will also replay every Sunday morning on The SiriusXM NFL Tailgate Show, SiriusXM NFL Radio’s pre-game program (Sundays from 9:00 am — 12:00 pm ET).

Madden will also join Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo for a weekly NFL discussion every Friday at 5:00 pm ET on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio, channel 86.

SiriusXM To Broadcast Live From All 32 NFL Training Camps In August

Sirius XM Radio, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NFL, will kick off the seventh annual SiriusXM NFL Radio Training Camp Tour today, August 3, broadcasting live from all 32 NFL team training camps between now and the start of the 2011 regular season.

All shows will air on SiriusXM NFL Radio, SiriusXM’s 24-hour NFL channel, available nationwide on channel 88 on Sirius and XM Premier (formerly known as “The Best of Sirius”).

SiriusXM NFL Radio hosts will broadcast live on location from training camp sites around the country, giving listeners access to their favorite teams and players as they prepare for the coming season.  The series will present an expert breakdown of every team, one-on-one interviews with players, coaches and franchise executives, and reports on rookies, veterans and free agents.  A schedule detailing show times, hosts and locations appears below.

SiriusXM NFL Radio hosts on the tour include former players, coaches, front office executives and other insiders including: former NFL MVP Rich Gannon, former NFL head coach Brad Childress, three time Pro-Bowl offensive lineman Randy Cross, longtime Dallas Cowboys pro personnel executive Gil Brandt, former NFL defensive lineman Tim Ryan, former NFL front office executive Pat Kirwan, former NFL QB Jim Miller, former NFL defensive back Solomon Wilcots, former NFL lineman Ross Tucker, former All-Pro linebacker Carl Banks, plus NFL experts Adam Schein, Peter King and Bob Papa.

On Saturday, August 6, SiriusXM NFL Radio will present live coverage from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, for the 2011 enshrinement ceremonies.  Listeners will hear live coverage as the class of 2011 is inducted – which includes Richard Dent, Marshall Faulk, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter, Ed Sabol, Deion Sandersand Shannon Sharpe.
