SiriusXM Offers Every Game Of The 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship

Sirius XM Radio will broadcast every game of the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, offering subscribers nationwide uninterrupted access to play-by-play of every match-up from the First Four® on March 13 and 14 through the Final Four and National Championship game in New Orleans on March 31 and April 2.

All tournament games will be available to SiriusXM listeners in their entirety, with no blackouts, on Sirius channels 91, 92, 93, 94 and 85 and XM channels 91, 190, 191, 192 and 193. Tournament match-ups and Sirius and XM channel assignments will be available at www.siriusxm.com/collegesports starting Monday, March 12.

On Selection Sunday, March 11, SiriusXM will offer an evening of selection show specials that will give listeners live updates as tournament teams and match-ups are announced.  Chris “Mad Dog” Russo and Steve Torre will host live from 5:00 to 9:00 pm ET on Mad Dog Radio (channel 86).  Then from 9:00 pm to midnight ET, listeners can tune into continued coverage on SiriusXM College Sports Nation (channel 91).  The shows will feature interviews with special guests, including team coaches and selection committee chair Jeff Hathaway, and give fans a place to call in and share their reactions and opinions as the field is revealed.

Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of the Duke Blue Devils, will continue to host his weekly talk show, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K,throughout the tournament.  Listeners can hear the show Wednesdays (7:00 pm ET) on Mad Dog Radio with replays on SiriusXM College Sports Nation.

Fans can also follow everything happening throughout the tournament on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, SiriusXM’s all-college sports channel.  Listeners will hear live play-by-play of tournament games plus daily talk and analysis from a roster of hosts that includes former Villanova University and University of Massachusetts coach Steve Lappas, former University of Vermont coach Tom Brennan, 1992 UPI Player of the YearJimmy Jackson, and college basketball experts Mark Packer, Jeff Goodman, Jon Rothstein, Jason Horowitz and Chris Childers.

SiriusXM College Sports Nation hosts will be in New Orleans broadcasting live from Friday, March 30, through Tuesday, April 3, delivering fans all the latest news and talk from the Final Four.

SiriusXM will also offer coverage of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, providing listeners from coast to coast with full coverage of every regional final, the Women’s Final Four and championship game.

Kelly Carlin to Host New Show on SiriusXM

Sirius XM Radio announced today that Kelly Carlin, daughter of George Carlin, one of the most influential comedians of all time,  will host a new monthly show on Raw Dog Comedy, channel 99, and on Carlin’s Corner, the new 24/7 channel devoted to George Carlin, channel 400.

Each month, The Kelly Carlin Show will feature Kelly interviewing a different comedian, stand-up comedy, personal stories and memories about her legendary and beloved father. The monthly show will kick off with a revealing conversation with special guest Robin Williams, during which the two will discuss Williams’ experience on The Richard Pryor Show and Mork & Mindy, what it takes to be an actor versus a stand-up comedian and Williams’ thoughts on the end of the world.

The Kelly Carlin Show will premiere on Sunday, February 12 at 7:00 pm ET and will air the first Sunday of every month on Raw Dog Comedy, channel 99. The Kelly Carlin Show will also air the first Monday of every month at 8:00 pm ET on Carlin’s Corner, channel 400.

Upcoming episodes are scheduled to feature conversations with special guests Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black and Chris Hardwick.

SiriusXM Raw Dog Comedy features uncensored comedy from the edge: classic comedy, the hottest new stand-ups and original shows. “SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Ringo Starr” to Air Live on January 30

Sirius XM Radio announced today that Ringo Starr will sit down for a rare, exclusive Q&A session, hosted by Russell Brand and moderated by legendary producer Don Was, with a select group of SiriusXM subscribers at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, California.

“SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Ringo Starr” will air live on The Spectrum, channel 28, on Monday, January 30 at 4:00 pm ET, the day before the release of Starr’s new album, Ringo 2012. The special is part of SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series, an intimate gathering with an iconic musician and a studio audience of SiriusXM listeners. Previous “SiriusXM Town Hall” specials have featured Bruce Springsteen, the surviving members of Nirvana, Tom Petty and Coldplay.

Hosted by Russell Brand, and moderated by Don Was, who is featured on Ringo 2012, the “SiriusXM Town Hall with Ringo Starr” will include the legendary singer/songwriter/drummer answering questions from the studio audience.

The “Town Hall” special will also feature an in-studio performance by Starr and his band. SiriusXM listeners will hear some of Starr’s classics as well as songs from his new album Ringo 2012.

Sirius XM Radio today introduced the SiriusXM Lynx Portable Radio, the first SiriusXM 2.0 radio that offers new features and receives an expanded channel lineup via satellite and Internet.

Lynx is the most advanced radio ever from SiriusXM, able to receive the new expanded SiriusXM 2.0 channel lineup of commercial-free music, sports, and comedy that includes SiriusXM Latino, a new suite of Spanish-language programming. Lynx is built with a flexible architecture which allows for new features and capabilities to be added through software updates.
